Status Report, August

Sitting…on the loveseat from my living room, now shoved into the dining room in order to make room for the hospital bed.

Drinking…coffee, black.

Eating…a slice of pound cake for breakfast, yes and amen.

Grateful…for the Lord’s mercies that are new every morning and for His many providences over the last week. So many of you are praying for us! Some of you from literally across the globe–isn’t the body of Christ wonderful? Thank you.

Seeing…improvement each day. It’s a little easier every day and as I thank the Lord for that grace I can’t but help think of those for whom it is more difficult every day. If that is you I pray the Lord will grant sustaining grace. May He show Himself strong on your behalf!

Realizing…afresh how much we love our church family and how well they love us. The bond of Christ is far deeper than mere friendship. We are family and we thank God for them. Five years this July we’ve been meeting together and I am amazed at the Lord’s work among us and toward us.

Planning…to register for The Gospel Coalition 2014 Women’s Conference soon and very soon and I am so excited! I would already have completed the registration process but I can’t decide on the workshops. So many wonderful options!

Reading…I Am Half-Sick of Shadows, the fourth in Alan Bradley’s delightful Flavia de Luce series. I’ve just discovered my library’s ebook lending option and I am loving it! I’ve already discovered titles available to check out electronically that I’ve been unable to find on the shelves. Yay!

Thinking…that it can’t possibly be August already but then again feeling as if summer has stretched on forever. We are all of us a little restless at this time every year, weary of the summer break and eager to get back into the swing of school and such. And y’all know of my love for fall and I am beyond ready for cooler temps and associated wardrobe.

Planning…for the start of Bible study on September 10. Any of you local gals are more than welcome to join us! Email me for more information. Our theme will be “Thus Saith the Lord: a look at God’s Word through the prophets.” I’m equal parts excitement and nerves yet confident in the power of the Spirit to teach and transform us through the living Word, yes and amen!

Wishingyou all a happy August!
