Status Report, July

Sitting…at my dining room table surrounded by plates and lamps and papers and books and other various and sundry decor and study items. It seems to me, at least in my use and experience, that the modern dining room isn’t so much for dining as for a multitude of other purposes.

Drinking...nothing at all. I just munched on a handful of cheezits so I imagine a glass of tea is in my near future.

Sharing…how to make sweet tea with a young friend of mine made me feel so very Titus 2, but with a Southern sensibility 🙂

Wishing…my boys were little, today especially, and not only for all the obvious reasons

Re-reading…Pride and Prejudice, a nearly annual indulgence. I recently listened to the first three lectures in this series and my love for dear Jane was rekindled, as if I needed further impetus!

Realizing…the last nine novels I’ve read have all been re-reads of books I’ve read dozens of times. I read all the Harry Potter books (love!) then Jane Eyre and now Pride and Prejudice. All happy escapes that I enjoyed very much.

Needing..something new to read! Some of you have sent me recommendations and I will be checking them out soon with fingers crossed that our local library has some of them in stock.

Thinking…about my own “memoir” of books after having read (and loved) Booked. Maybe I will share some of those influential titles in a future post or two.

Anticipating…The Gospel Coalition’s Women’s Conference next year! I can’t wait! If any of you have plans to attend let me know. One of the funnest things among many fun things was seeing so many friends and fellow bloggers! All that *plus* incredible teaching by passionate and gifted women who love the Lord and His Word. Did I mention I can’t wait?

Planning…for Bible study this fall. I really miss teaching! I’m considering a podcast of my lessons; is that crazy? It might be but having the lesson audio available would hopefully serve those ladies unable to attend during our regular meeting time. We’ll see. I’m not sure I’m up to par technologically speaking!

So there you have it, a glimpse into life as I know it here at the start of July. Is anyone else as shocked as I am that it is, in fact, July? This is crazy. Craziness aside, I hope you all enjoy a wonderful month of summer fun and celebration!
