Thankfulness on Thursday

I am joining other bloggers who devote space on their site each Thursday to gratefully acknowledge the Lord’s providences and blessings of the past week. Today I thank the Lord for…

Easter. I told you about our Easter celebration on Monday’s post and, truly, it was a wonderful day. I am most thankful, however, for what we celebrate over and above the celebration itself: the death of my Savior and His glorious resurrection.

The sure hope we have in Christ. Sin will not have the last victory because Christ reigns and He has conquered!

Grace, grace, and more grace. Grace in my sin. Grace in my motherhood. Grace for my boys. Grace in my failures. Grace in my blessings.

The start of a new session of Bible study. I love the Bible, I love to study, and I love new beginnings. Win, win and win this past Tuesday.

Lunch with friends after Bible study. A long lunch as it turned out, with good food and good conversation and lots of it.

Mind stretching conversations about, among other things, the wrath of God, judgment of sin, and knowing the Lord’s purposes (or, not). I had two such conversations yesterday, both rather intense. I called my friend at the end of the second and begged her to talk to me about something (anything) frivolous: shoes, nail polish, you name it!

Good friends who understand me, my weird idiosyncrasies, and happily indulge me a silly conversation now and again 😉

My husband who also patiently endures my weirdness and loves me despite myself.

My dog Darcy and the companionship she affords me. She is currently beside me on the sofa and though the full length of the sofa is available for her to nap she is instead snuggled right up next to me. Who ever knew I would be thankful for a dog?

What are you thankful for today?

I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;
 I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
 I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

  1. Thankful for my sister and the afternoon we had together. I love your thankful Thursdays! It’s such a great reminder for me.

Join the conversation! I may not always reply directly but I do read and appreciate every comment.
