Honestly

My friend Carrie at Reading to Know tagged me awhile back with an “Honest Scrap” shout out. In this meme, I must post ten honest things about myself, which I assume to be ten honest things I haven’t already posted. Nearly all of my posting seems, at least to me, to be a perpetual confessional of sorts so finding ten more honest things isn’t as easy as it may seem…

1. I do not drink milk. Yuck.
2. When I renewed my driver’s license a few months ago, in a noble burst of integrity, I put my actual weight. Yeah, really. Why, I do not know but I will admit to the occasional flush of regret and embarrassment, not to mention fear that someone might take note.
3. Nerd alert: My DVR is set to record all new episodes of Masterpiece Classics on PBS.
4. I keep a hidden stash of dark chocolate.
5. I do not like talking on the phone.
6. Nerd alert #2: Two of my favorite websites–dictionary.com and thesaurus.com
7. I do not watch the local news. Ever.
8. I do like to watch “House Hunters,” most especially “House Hunters International.”
9. My favorite hymn is Be Thou My Vision. Other favorites (among many): Garden Salsa Sun Chips, Pride and Prejudice (the novel especially but the movies too), and 2 Cor. 4:6.
10. Nerd alert #3: One of my dreams is to go back to school.

Want to get honest with your readers? Then consider yourself tagged and let me know when you post your ten honest things!

  1. #3 – I would DEFINITELY do, if I had a DVR. Even though my hubby won’t watch with me. Which is probably why I should invest in the DVR.

#7 – Ditto (except for occasional weather alerts)

#9 – My favorite hymn, too. LOVE the chips. Of course, love the Jane. Had to look up the verse, but I like that one, too.

    #10 – ME, TOO!!!!

  2. Oh my goodness Lisa! I love your writing and just know that we have a ton in common but for heaven’s sake!!! A couple of your confessions concerned me a bit. Just look:

1.) I love milk. LOVE. Not just capital L but capital L.O.V.E.
2.) No comment. Not to you or the DMV.
3.) My DVR is set to record American Idol πŸ˜‰

    but then …

4.) Soul Sisters we are after all.
5.) Making progress now … I avoid it at all costs.
6.) Can’t live without them. Love them. At least with a capital L.
7.) Complete goofballs. Only for the weather and only if the internet is down.

and again with the differences …

8.) My least favorite HGTV show is the House Hunters International! While I was nursing a newborn and watching WAY too much at night this show seemed to be on perpetually! The houses are weird with TINY kitchens.

    striking the balance πŸ™‚ …

    9.) Yes, Yes, & Yes.

10.) Your dream = My Nightmare!

Loved reading this πŸ™‚ I will post mine later … Blessings Lisa!!!

  3. Hey! If you went back to school, what would you want to study?

And I hate talking on the phone also. I’ll do just about anything to avoid it. Only right now I shouldn’t be avoiding it so much. I have two phone calls I really OUGHT to make (maybe even SHOULD make) but I haven’t worked up to it yet.

Why can’t the whole world just agree to e-mail with each other? It’s so convenient!

  4. Okay, so…
    #1 – I don’t drink milk either. EVER. I totally agree – Yuck.
#4 – I do too!! πŸ˜‰ And, when it is gone, I sneak chocolate chips. πŸ™‚
#9 – That is one of my favorite hymn too!! (The other is When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Oops…maybe I should have saved that little tidbit for my own list… Just don’t tell anyone.)
    and
#10 – I would love to go back to school too…I started on a master’s in Biblical Counseling…but I got pregnant before I was able to finish. I’ve always wanted to get a master’s in Women’s Ministries too. What would you study if you could go back?

  5. Oh, I always enjoy learning more about you!

#4. It’s important to keep chocolate stashes. Unfortunately, my husband keeps finding mine.
#5. Me neither! The phone is not my friend.
#6. I even have the dictionary.com app on my iPod.
#10. Oh, me too! But I can’t decide what I’d study — there are several things that I think it would be fun to learn.
