Loose ends

I know you’ve all been dying of curiosity, but I didn’t get to jet ski. The weather was rainy with some lightning so our wave runner tour was canceled. Oh well. I think, though, it would have been good for me to do something exhilarating and way out of my comfort zone to pull me out of this gloomy funk at least for a little while. Oh well.

It is good to be home. I spent Monday wading through the mounds and mounds of post-beach and post-cycling camp laundry and going to the store, plus making trips to the orthodontist, guitar lesson and soccer practice. Welcome back to the real world. I, for one, am glad to be here!

My cyclist came home Monday with shaved legs and stories of “motor pacing” at FORTY SEVEN MILES AN HOUR–yeah, on a bicycle. We try to not think about how fast that really is on two skinny wheels. And by “we” I do mean “me.”

After a long two-and-a-half-year-plus “pregnancy,” our dear friends are traveling to China to welcome into their family their precious daughter Ahna. You can read of their adoption journey at Cindi’s blog, of paths and errands.

Have you ever felt like God was hidden? I know I have, many times. I recently had the opportunity to read and review The Presence of a Hidden God by D. James Kennedy. You can read the review over at 5 Minutes for Books, but here’s the bottom line: God is not hidden, no matter your circumstance or feelings. He has revealed Himself in His Son, Jesus Christ, “the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.” (Heb. 1:3) Want to find God? Look to Jesus Christ!

Do you blog with a purpose in mind? Have you ever considered why you blog and what you hope to accomplish in your blogging? My blog friend Angela of Becoming Me is hosting a carnival with participants sharing their mission in blogging. Interested in joining in? Or maybe you would like to find some kindred spirits? Head over to Becoming Me and get all the details

Speaking of Angela, she has honored me with the “Blog of Distinction” award. The award itself is humbling enough, but that it comes from one who blogs with such distinction in her own right makes it all the more meaningful. Thanks, Angela! I am humbled and honored!

And I want to publicly express my gratitude for my blog friend Kim who sent me a word in due season. Did y’all know she is a gifted calligrapher? A true artist? You can see some of her beautiful work here. And the word she shared with me?

Trust in the Lord and do good. Psalm 37:3

May I be found faithful…

  1. How timely that you were reviewing that book, given your circumstances.47 mph ON A BIKE?! Oh, my!So glad you are back, my dear friend.

  2. Glad you are home. Why do I blog. To obey my husband primarily…and because I hope that by being transparent I can minister to other women who struggle and show forth that God is sufficient. It is also a release for me…God ministers to mys spirit as I write about all that is happening to me. He speaks as I write and it is a place of communicaiton with Him as well. Hugs to you!
