Lisa, The Preacher’s Wife, has honored me with the Daily Dose award. Here’s how the award was described:
So here’s to all the blogs that you’ve discovered that you can’t possibly live without. They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog.
Like, wow. Thanks, friend!
Speaking of thanks, thanks for all the input on the tagline issue! Y’all were both affirming and hilarious in your tagline encouragement! I think my favorite comment comes from Elle who suggested “Lisa writes…and you read it.” Yes and amen. If there’s one thing we bloggers like, it’s readers! One or two will do. I do want to say that the post was really a poke at me and not at all at Jules. She was very encouraging and helpful and by no means suggesting a tagline to be necessary or even critical. Anyway, twenty two comments! That may be a record here at Lisa writes…
I am endlessly fascinated with the whole Presidential political process. I think it may hearken back to my love of The West Wing, which I understand was a tv show and not reality, not to mention a tv show with an obvious liberal bent. But Josh, Sam, Toby and CJ gave me a glimpse into the White House and I remain absolutely fascinated.
It is the process that intrigues me most, and not so much the issues. Yeah, I guess I’m shallow like that. Oh, there are issues that I care about and can defend with some semblance of reason and understanding, but there are a lot of issues that I do not understand and others I don’t care about so much. But the process, that fascinates me. I can’t get enough election coverage. To my great dismay, I missed the debates Saturday night, but come Tuesday night I will be glued to the tv watching the primary returns and soaking up every word of analysis the pundits have to offer.
And the candidates, they fascinate me as well. Can you imagine thinking to yourself, I have what it takes to be arguably the most powerful leader in the free world?
Today marks the last day of Christmas vacation. Tomorrow the rat race resumes. I wish I could say that today is the calm before the storm. Quite the contrary. Fussing, bickering, exasperation–and that’s just the mommy! We need the routine school brings, but I fear tomorrow will be a rude awakening. Literally
Finally, for all you Jane Austen
nerds fans out there, check this out. I am so excited! Leslie has the promo clip posted at her site (a feat far too technologically advanced for your truly). Set your DVR’s!
