Lisa times two…Or, when parallel universes collide

See, it’s me and Lisa aka The Preacher’s Wife (that’s me on the left in desperate need of some powder)! I think I’ve told you this before but she and I have been living in parallel universes. Or something. Anyway, she’s the mom of four; I’m the mom of four. She lives in a small town in Alabama; I live in a small town in Alabama. And actually, a good friend of mine works in her town. She and her husband once lived in Georgia; me and my husband once lived in Georgia. She dislikes tomatoes; I dislike tomatoes. She teaches women’s Bible study; I teach women’s Bible study.

Okay, I’ll stop now. I’m sure you get the point.
Anyway, we met for lunch and conversation yesterday and had a great time sharing our hearts about our kids, church stuff, and reaching women with God’s Word. We are kindred spirits, she and I.
It was my first MIRL (“meet in real life”) and I will admit I was both a little nervous and somewhat self concious. Lisa was (and is) the real deal: sweet and sincere. Thanks, Lisa, not only for lunch, but for a wonderful time of fellowship between sisters and friends.
Is this whole blog deal amazing or what?

  1. Now here’s where all the sameness stops – your recap was much cooler than mine..:)I didn’t realize you’d never had an IRL meet before?? This was the first sit down one I’d had…Amazing we both lived to tell about it and that neither one of us were weirdo internet stalkers…LOL But of course, if you were one then I would have been too – seeing as we are the same and all…:))Rambling again…I loved this!!

  2. I am so jealous. I would love to meet both of you.Sounds like you had such fun. Isn’t it wonderful when you meet someone you just click with right away? How wonderful for you both.

  3. So very neat! So, do you like Alabama better than Ga? I am currently in Ga and we are contemplating moving. But I dont’ want to move more than a few hours drive because of family.

  4. What a neat thing this bloggy world is! It brings us close together. I am from GA… just moved to OK from a town close to Alabama – Blakely. I did all my shopping in Dothan.I am also a mother of 4 and a Methodist Preacher’s wife. We moved to OK because all our children (and grandchildren) live in Tulsa area.I love your blog. Just found it through Lisa’s. Not sure HOW I got her’s on my blog list, but it’s there and I check it out daily. Blessings!

  5. Awesome! It is so great that you got to meet and you are a perfect “match”! I have missed reading you. I am without internet at home, and can only catch it at my parent’s now.Hope I can stop by MUCH more!
