Sitting…at my dining room table
Eating…lunch, a sandwich and some fritos. It’s a glamorous life, I tell you.
Loving…that it is October. Along with my friend Melissa, I love the -er months! September, October, November, December, all are favorites. Even January though it’s not an -er month! I like to say the fall and winter, such as we know them here in the deep South, suit my dreary personality.
Posting…a review of my friend Aimee’s most excellent book Housewife Theologian tomorrow (hopefully). I have seriously dropped the ball on my review responsibilities but suffice it to say that my review, it’s glowing, and my recommendation: Buy it. Read it.
Planning…a break from the blog after I post the book review. I know, I know, it’s rather obvious that, hello, I’m so not blogging here lately but for some reason making it all official with an announcement makes me feel better. So indulge me, it’s my blog after all. I am also breaking for a bit from my writing responsibilities at Out of the Ordinary. I am hoping that this time away will help me find some balance in my writing (or non-writing) life. We shall see.
Pitying...my poor dog Darcy. Her wireless fence malfunctioned and she is now suffering the rather more severe boundaries of the porch and the leash when she goes outside. We allowed her a day or two of the free range life and she had a BLAST. I, however, grew concerned and put an end to the party before someone called animal control. Her replacement fence is due in today. We are both looking forward to it.
Reading…Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina which has the distinction of being the first ever Russian novel I’ve read. I’m only a few pages in but so far, so good. I recently finished Carolyn Weber’s memoir Holy is the Day. Carolyn writes so beautifully that I found myself sighing over nearly every paragraph.
Cleaning…my house like a madwoman today. The sad thing is that it’s in such sorry shape that I won’t have much to show for my efforts. I think I need a month of cleaning like a madwoman to make a dent!
Shopping…for groceries as soon as I finish up this post and my lunch. Grocery shopping and cleaning all in the same day? What in the world? And, yes, I will be expecting a crown, a badge, or at the very least a pat on the back for my efforts.
Wishing…you all a wonderful October. Be sure to look for my review of Housewife Theologian tomorrow! After that, who knows? Follow me on twitter or like this blog on Facebook to stay abreast of new posts when (if) they come. You may also receive posts via email. Just check out the sidebar.
Happy October, friends!
