A while back I posted on books I was currently reading and books waiting in my holding pattern. I don’t know if you share my fascination, but I am always curious about what others are reading. In other words, I am always on the quest for a good read. I could get lost on amazon reading the reviews and listmania. Nerdy, I know, but I am what I am. I’m fine with it.
Anyway, should you share my same nerdiness, I offer the following update:
Finished The Autobiography of George Muller. More on this on a later post.
Finished The Messies Manual. I have to say reading it was kind of like watching reality television: you can’t believe people live like that, and you are so thankful it’s not you. I’m not sure what I was expecting, really, but certainly not an elaborate system of hanging files and labels and something called a flipper. Sounds too much like work to me; hence the buying of the book to begin with.
Still reading Boundaries With Kids, although the term “reading” would be loosely applied. Actually, the book is still in my van should I care to pick it up again while sitting in the dreaded car line. I told you as a general rule I do not like parenting books. I manufacture enough guilt on my own.
Completed a couple of books not on the list I posted. I reread Jane Austen’s Emma. I love Jane Austen (yet another example of my nerdiness). Pride and Prejudice is hands down my all-time favorite novel. I cannot count the number of times I’ve read it and still, each time I pick it up I enjoy it all over again.
Just finished the chick lit novel Calm, Cool and Adjusted by Kristin Billerbeck. I bought it at Wal Mart for filler during those down times at the soccer tournament this past weekend. A light and fluffy read, yet thoroughly enjoyable: total chick lit, but hey, there’s nothing wrong with a little fun now and then!
I’m a little scared to ask this, given the lack of response at my last request for audience participation, but should you feel so led, post a comment and let me know what’s on your reading list–I’d love to know!
